Raina Kahanu-McNeeley is from Kailua. She adventured beyond Hawaii to earn her B.A. in Early Childhood Education and M.A. in Teaching from Pacific University in Oregon, and to teach for a year in American Samoa. She taught 4th-6th grades for four years before starting at Sunshine School in 2017, where she likes the intimacy of the school's small size and the sense of community she feels with colleagues, children, and families. In her spare time, Raina enjoys photography, being crafty, and spending time out in nature.


Kali Higa grew up in Enchanted Lakes, Kailua. She graduated from Kailua High School in 2018. Currently she is attending College and Majoring in Early Childhood Education. Her goal is to become a preschool or Kindergarten teacher. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her nephew, family, and friends.
